Multi-Slider Die Casting
DieCastor produces multi-slide die cast components — small, complex zinc parts formed with four or more slides acting in a single shot. This process delivers near-net-shape geometry with minimal flash and, in many cases, eliminates the need for secondary trimming, threading or machining.
Introduction
Multi-slide die casting is the most cost-effective route for intricate, thin-wall zinc components at volume. By forming undercuts, cross-holes and threads in the die, we reduce downstream operations and hold tight, repeatable tolerances across long production runs.
Manufacturing Capability
| Process | Capability |
|---|---|
| Multi-slide casting | 4-6 slides forming complex geometry in one shot. |
| Tooling | In-house die design, CNC/EDM cutting and trial shots. |
| Machining | Optional CNC finishing of critical features. |
| Finishing | Plating, powder coat, passivation. |
| Inspection | CMM, spectrometer and dimensional verification. |
Material Options
| Material | Key properties | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| ZAMAK 3 | Excellent castability, balance of strength | Connectors, housings |
| ZAMAK 5 | Higher strength, hardness | Latches, mechanical parts |
| ZA-8 | Superior creep resistance, bearing surface | Gears, wear parts |
